Need help paying your bill? Please let us know if you’re unable to pay your bill in full. Our account representatives and financial care counselors can help at (251) 415-1667. If you meet certain financial criteria, you may receive government assistance, plus we offer monthly payment schedules and other financial assistance programs.
Financial Arrangements
USA Health recognizes many types of insurance programs. It is important that you give complete information about insurance coverage, Medicare, Medicaid or other programs. Incomplete financial information will cause delays in processing your hospital account.
Many insurance programs require precertification, or approval, before admitting you to the hospital or before having certain tests or exams. It is your responsibility to ensure that this is done prior to admission. Without approval, your insurance company will deny payment in most instances. Payment for charges not covered by insurance will need to be arranged before admission and will be due at the time you leave the hospital.
If you do not have insurance coverage, a cash deposit is required at the time of admission. If you do have insurance coverage but your insurance benefits are insufficient to cover the initial deposit, you will be asked to make a deposit to cover the difference.
Payment Arrangements
Any special arrangements for payment of your hospital account must be made with the Business Services Department at (251) 470-5882. While in the hospital, a Business Services Representative may contact you or a family member to ensure that our records are complete and accurate.
Social Services
The Social Services Department assists patients and families with the social, emotional and financial needs which often result from illness, injury or hospitalization. The social workers, along with case managers, offer planning services such as home care arrangements. Social Services may assist with nursing home placement, transfers to other special care facilities, counseling services and referral services.
The Social Services staff is available at no cost to talk with any patient or family. Social Services is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m at (251) 471-7380. After 4:30 p.m. and on weekends you may call (251) 471-7000 for a hospital operator to contact a social worker.
