University of South Alabama and USA Health employees have an opportunity to support the university’s mission to promote discovery, health and learning by contributing to the 2020 Employee Annual Giving Campaign for the SouthFund.

Employees recently received pledge cards that outline the impact that employees and retirees have made on the university through their contributions – $9.3 million since 2003. Last year’s campaign drew donations from 2,899 donors, with 79 departments achieving 100 percent employee participation. Employees can return pledge cards to their supervisors or campaign unit representatives, and they can choose a payroll deduction for convenience.

“Our employee giving campaign has become a proud tradition and is one more way we add momentum to the positive impact our work makes for us and our community,” said Michael Chang, M.D., chief medical officer and associate vice president for USA Medical Affairs. Chang serves as a co-chair of the campaign with J. Harold Pardue, Ph.D., dean of the graduate school and associate vice president for USA Academic Affairs.

USA and USA Health employees who return their SouthFund commitment cards by Friday, Feb. 7, can amplify the impact of their employee donation. Gifts and pledges made this week will be counted toward the third annual USA Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraising challenge set for Valentine’s Day. Also, gifts made by Feb. 7 and directed to the Mitchell Moulton Scholarship Initiative will be double-matched, providing additional support for qualifying undergraduate scholarship endowments.
