USA Health continues to work to get the Gulf Coast region back to normal by providing vaccinations where they are needed. On Friday, May 14, the Carnival Sensation docked in Mobile at the Alabama Cruise Terminal so nearly 100 members of the ship’s staff could receive a first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine from USA Health’s pandemic response team.

Among those receiving the shot was cruise director Duncan Puttock, who proudly displayed a string of USA Health Mardi Gras beads: “We’re so grateful to get vaccinated.” Other members of the international staff posed for photos together, holding up smart phones for post vaccine selfies.

The vaccination clinic, held on the ground floor of the cruise terminal building, took on a festive feel as Azalea Trail Maids gathered and the Excelsior Band played upbeat jazz for the event that marked the first time a cruise ship docked in downtown Mobile in more than a year.

Since Dec. 15, 2020, USA Health has provided more than 70,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to those eligible for the shot.
