USA Health hospital employees who wish to recognize their co-workers for excellence can nominate them through a new staff-to-staff recognition program called Cheers for Peers.

Is there someone in your department at Children’s & Women’s Hospital or University Hospital who is always willing to lend a hand? You can nominate that person for recognition through a new program called Cheers for Peers.

“It is so important to show appreciation for our teammates, especially during the pandemic, when teamwork is essential to providing care for our patients,” said Rachel Rentschler, director of USA Health patient relations. “Our hope is that Cheers for Peers will provide an opportunity to highlight those team members who make an impact on not just their departments but also elsewhere in the hospitals.”

Rentschler said that ideal nominees are those who go above and beyond to help their teams. “These are employees who are supportive of their teammates and put the needs of their departments and co-workers first,” she said.

Employees can nominate a co-worker by filling out a Cheers for Peers form, which can be found at departments throughout both hospitals. Nominees will be notified by USA Health Patient Relations and their names entered in a drawing held monthly at each hospital. Winners of the drawings will receive a prize.

Rentschler said that the Kudos program now in place at USA Health hospitals will continue to recognize staff who receive praise from visitors, patients and their families. Kudos stands for Keeping Up Dependable Outstanding Service.
