APPs invited to attend collaborative practice presentation

The presentation will cover rules and common pitfalls of collaborative practice, including medical oversight, collaboration and quality assurance.

The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners will present “Collaborative Practice for Advanced Practice Providers,” both virtually and in-person on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at various times throughout USA Health campuses.

USA Health APPs who are in a collaborative/supervisory practice must abide by Alabama laws and administrative rules set forth by the Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing. The presentation will cover rules and common pitfalls of collaborative practice, including medical oversight, collaboration and quality assurance.

  • 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.

  • 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    • Collaborative Practice Presentation followed by Q&A

  • 12:30 – 1 p.m.
    • QACSC Presentation followed by Q&A
    • Strada Patient Care Center Conference Room, Room 1101
  • 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
    • Collaborative Practice Presentation followed by Q&A
    • Children’s & Women’s Hospital CWEB Atlantis Room

An additional presentation about prescribing controlled substances and the QACSC will immediately follow the afternoon presentation at Strada. All USA Health APPs in a collaborative practice (CRNP, PA, CNM) are encouraged to attend one of these meetings.

There will also be a virtual attendance option during the scheduled presentation times (presentations are not permitted to be recorded). Virtual options will be posted to Teams: Advanced Practice Providers of USA Health.
