On May 23, USA Health hosted a robotics fair featuring the da Vinci SP (single port), a robotic-assisted technology system that allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures. More than 500 medical students, physicians, faculty and staff stopped by to check out the equipment, with some trying their hand at a mock surgery using the robot.

USA Health is home to two da Vinci XI robotic systems. With one robot housed at University Hospital and the other at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, the state-of-the-art equipment allows surgeons to offer a variety of minimally invasive procedures and operations for children and adults.
