USA Health has a new resource for employees who are facing financial hardship because of an emergency. When funded, the Employee Emergency Fund will provide assistance to employees who meet eligibility guidelines and are approved by the Employee Emergency Fund committee.

“The theme for the USA Health Spiritual Care Department this year is ‘Love Starts with Me.’ As we work together, we experience and travel the pathways of life side by side, with hearts that care for others and one another,” said Chaplain Kim Crawford Meeks, spiritual care manager for USA Health. “Through the Employee Emergency Fund, we have the opportunity to give love and needed support to a fellow employee when the unexpected occurs along the journey.”

The new Employee Assistance Fund is self-funded, meaning that it will award funds to approved applicants once it has received sufficient donations.

How to apply for assistance:

  • Call the Spiritual Care Department at 251-445-9015 or email [email protected]. Complete a short pre-screening interview.
  • If basic eligibility guidelines are met, meet with the chaplain and provide documentation of the qualifying emergency, your income and an Employee Emergency Fund intake form.
  • Your application will then be considered by the Employee Emergency Fund Committee. Approval or denial of the application can be expected in about one week. All assistance is considered taxable income and will be reported by USA Health.
