The Pillar Committee at USA Health University Hospital is holding a Backpack Food Drive Sept. 1-30 to help school-age children in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The drive, held in partnership with Feeding the Gulf Coast, recognizes that schools have undergone significant changes, with many moving their instruction online. The goal of the drive is to help children who may be missing their school lunches.

Departments are being provided with boxes for the collection of “pop-top” items such as canned soups, baked beans and canned pastas, and packaged shelf-stable snacks such as pudding cups, fruit cups, fruit roll-ups and gummies.

Visit, the Feeding the Gulf Coast website for more information about financial donations.
