During the month of September, USA Health employees located at USA Health University Hospital, UHOP, and the Mastin and Moorer buildings were encouraged to donate non-perishable food items to the Feeding the Gulf Coast backpack program.

Donations were collected on Oct. 1, and USA Health donated more than 1,500 pounds of food, which will provide nearly 1,330 meals for the backpack program. The goal of the food drive is to help children who may be missing their school lunches during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We appreciate all the employees for contributing to the success of this drive,” said Andrea Odom, volunteer and food drive coordinator at Feeding the Gulf Coast. “This will help so many children in our community who are food insecure.”
