Cheryl McDole, a billing and insurance clerk 1 in the radiology department at USA Health University Hospital, is the 2020 recipient of the Frank Greiner, M.D., Radiology Employee Award.

“Cheryl has always gone above and beyond to make sure patients' needs are placed first,” says Tessie Johnson, technical director for the radiology department at University Hospital, who nominated McDole for the award. “When insurance issues or order issues occur that might lead to a delay for a patient, Cheryl takes the necessary extra steps to take care of the patient. We appreciate all that Cheryl does to assist patients and all members of the healthcare team she encounters.”

The annual award is administered through the USA Foundation and is named in honor of the late Dr. Francis “Frank” Greiner, professor of radiology and chief of neuroradiology at the USA College of Medicine, who passed away in 2015.

The Greiner Award recognizes an employee who has had an impact on the radiology department and who exhibits excellence in work, fearlessness in his or her willingness to do what is right, independence and self-initiative, and a sense of humor.
