HIPAA-compliant REDCap now available
Platform will provide a secure and readily available technology for storing project data.
REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is now available in a HIPAA-compliant platform to secure USA Health protected health information, facilitating projects related to research, performance improvement, data capture, surveys, databases and more.
REDCap is a secure web-based application used by more than 4,000 institutions across 130 countries, supporting more than 900,000 projects with more than 1.3 million users. For the past three years, the University of South Alabama Charles M. Baugh Biomedical Library has supported an instance of REDCap for users at the University of South Alabama and is now extending its expertise in supporting the USA Health instance of REDCap.
“The Office of HIPAA Compliance is excited to see the offering of a HIPAA-compliant platform to our faculty and staff to facilitate projects. It will provide a secure and readily available technology necessary for communication and storage of project data,” said Carrie Pace, assistant chief HIPAA compliance officer of security at USA Health.
