USA Health leaders have announced plans to establish an interfaith council to promote peace, respect and inclusion for all employees.

Judy Blair-Elortegui, M.D., internal medicine residency program director, internal medicine physician with USA Health, and associate professor of internal medicine at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine; and Chaplain Kim Crawford Meeks, USA Health spiritual care manager, will co-facilitate the USA Health Interfaith Council.

“We welcome employees of all religious backgrounds and spiritual beliefs to join the council and to submit information to the council for consideration, understanding and support,” Crawford Meeks said. “The council members exist to promote peace, respect, inclusion and appreciation for all.”

The interfaith council will facilitate listening and understanding of diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds among employees, and it will seek to ensure that all voices are heard in interreligious dialogue.

“Our goals are to learn from the diverse faith experiences of one another and strive to meet the spiritual needs of employees to the best of our ability within the guidelines and available resources of our health system,” Crawford Meeks said.
