Sarah Kahalley has been named director of clinical resources for USA Health’s Physicians Group. In this position, Kahalley will provide leadership to promote and improve patient-centeredness, patient equity and timeliness of healthcare delivery in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.

“I want help in the most impactful way that I can,” Kahalley says. “It started with caring for patients at the bedside, but for me, I felt that wasn’t enough. This led to me to the outpatient world where I am able to impact a larger number of patients.”

Kahalley earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama and went on to complete her master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Kahalley’s outpatient career began at Providence Medical Group as an internal medicine clinic nurse. She then led the clinic as practice manager before transitioning into clinical informatics as a transformation specialist.

Kahalley was drawn to USA Health because of its opportunities for career development and growth. She began working at USA Health with the Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative (TCPI) as a quality data coordinator. This year, Kahalley also led a team of other healthcare employees in the setup of a COVID-19 drive-through testing site at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, which now has been moved to the Mobile Civic Center. She was recognized as a Healthcare Hero by WKRG for her work at the testing site.

In her new position as director of clinical resources, Kahalley is establishing the best clinical practices at USA Health’s physician offices to promote a higher level of patient care.
