Pathology Faculty and Staff Recognition

The USA Health Pathology Residency Program recognized impactful faculty and staff at an annual awards program on July 25. Bettina Kelson, coordinator of the Pathology Residency Program, received the Staff Recognition Award. The recipient of the Faculty Recognition Award was Jacek Polski, M.D., associate professor of pathology and interim medical director of the Division of Clinical Pathology. Guillermo Herrera, M.D., professor and chair of pathology, and Muhammad Tahir, M.D., a third-year pathology resident, presented the awards.

Jackson named employee of the month

Erica Jackson, a medical assistant who works in medical oncology at the Mitchell Cancer Institute, has been named employee of the month for July.

Among the comments made in her nomination:

  • “Erica always steps in to help whenever and wherever help is needed, and her big smile and bubbly personality are why we love her and why our patients love her too.”
  • “She always has a happy greeting for whomever she meets. She has built relationships with so many of our patients, and it really makes such a difference in their lives.”
