Glavan recognized for valuable service

Michael Glavan, LBSW, a social worker at University Hospital, was recognized by emergency medicine residents at their recent graduation banquet. The senior resident class voted him the “Best Off-Service Consultant or Service.” The award recognizes a provider or service the residents considered impactful in their graduate medical education, or particularly valued in caring for patients in the emergency department. The senior emergency medicine residents commented on how much they enjoyed working with Glavan and valued his input on challenging patients and situations.

Children’s & Women’s Hospital presents awards

Angela Hardy, who works in Environmental Services, was selected as a “Nothing Bundt the Best” winner for May.
Darlene Henderson, a patient care assistant who works in high-risk OB, was nominated for Kudos recognitions by nine separate patients and families during the month of May.

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
