Byrd named employee of the month
Stephanie Byrd, CRNP, a nurse practitioner in the supportive oncology service at the Mitchell Cancer Institute, was named employee of the month for February. Among the comments made about Byrd:
- “She helps (patients) achieve the best quality of life possible by being not just a caregiver, but an advocate for their well-being.”
- “When other employees are overwhelmed with tasks, whether in the office or the clinic, she always picks up the slack to try to help the entire team move forward in providing care. She does this with a quiet demeanor and a smile on her face.”
- “Not only does she manage patients so well, looking for new ways to improve their quality of life by offering a different therapy or treatment, or by obtaining needed spiritual support, but she also supports the family members by providing guidance on how to best help their loved ones outside of the hospital or clinic setting.”
