Joey Lackey named employee of the month

Joey Lackey, RN, a nurse who works in medical oncology, has been named the Mitchell Cancer Institute's employee of the month for August.

Among the comments made in her nomination:

• “Joey shows up to work every day willing to give no less than 100% to every team member and patient! She is always working efficiently to get her tasks done and her patients taken care of, and helps co-workers any time help is needed. And she does so with a smile and a great attitude!”
• “She is such a great team player and problem solver, and she initiates helping without having to be asked, especially if it means helping a patient. It doesn’t matter how long the task will take or who it is for, even taking on tasks for other doctors. She also enjoys and helps create learning materials for staff to learn information in new and creative ways.”
