Devin Hudson Fancher, M.S.N., CRNP, APRNFA: Nurse practitioner, Surgical Trauma, University Hospital 

  • What is your favorite thing about your job? My favorite thing about my job, besides my amazing coworkers, is that it is never boring! Every day is a surprise working in trauma!
  • What is the best advice you have ever received? If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
  • What is your guilty pleasure? Watching “Real Housewives” of Orange County and New Jersey
  • What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel and fly to big cities and eat all of the popular food!
  • What about your family? My husband and I just celebrated our two-year anniversary. We have an adorable 6-month-old son!

Heather Alexander, PA-C: Physician assistant, USA JAG Hospitalist Group, University Hospital

  • What is your college alma mater? Mississippi State University and the University of South Alabama
  • What is your favorite thing about your job? My favorite thing about my job is being able to provide acute care to my patients during their hospital stay and see their improvement by the time of discharge.
  • What is your hometown? Long Beach, Mississippi
  • What about your pets? I have one fur child, Mick, who is a toy Australian Shepherd.

Kaitlin Brantley, M.S.N., CRNP, FNP-BC: Nurse practitioner, Pediatrics, Strada Patient Care Center

  • What is your favorite thing about your job? I love having the opportunity to watch my patients grow and learn as infants, alongside their parents. After infancy, it is remarkable to see them grow into toddlers, children and, ultimately, young adults.
  • What is your hometown? Irvington, Alabama
  • What is the best advice you have ever received? Follow your dreams.
  • What is your hidden talent? Dancing! I was a dancer for 18 years and danced competitively for 15 years.
  • What is your guilty pleasure? Staying up late reading and re-watching TV shows
  • Do you have any pets? We have three dogs, one duck and 20 chickens!

Lindsey Dodson, M.S.N, CRNA: Nurse anesthetist, Children’s & Women’s Hospital

  • What is your collegiate alma mater? I received my B.S.N. from Georgia Southern University and my M.S.N. from the Medical University of South Carolina
  • What is your favorite thing about your job? My colleagues are the best part of working at C&W, for sure. They make coming to work fun! They are truly the best of the best.
  • What is your guilty pleasure? High Noon tequila seltzers at the beach
  • What about your family life? My husband and I have three children. Our two boys are 8 and 6. Our little girl is 2½. We also have a dog named Rufus. We love living in Fairhope!

Marcelo Gerjoi, PA-C: Physician assistant, Neurosurgery, Strada Patient Care Center 

  • Where did you earn your degree? Interservice Physician Assistant Program in the U.S. Army
  • What is your favorite thing about your job? The people I work with and the intensity of neurosurgery.

  • What is the best advice you have ever received? Life begins at 40.
  • What is your hidden talent? How much or how fast I can eat
  • What did you want to be when you grew up? A firefighter

  • What did you want to be when you grew up? A marine biologist
  • What about your family? My husband, Ryan, and I have been married for 16 years. We have three children (13, 9 and 6) and a dog named Roux!

Melanie Thomas, M.S.N., CRNP: Nurse practitioner, Orthopaedics (foot and ankle), Orthopaedic Surgery

  • What is your favorite thing about your job? The thing I love most about my job is showing up to help others.

  • What is the best advice you have ever received? Never give up on your dreams!
  • What is your guilty pleasure? Cookies and cream milkshake from Chick-fil-A
  • What did you want to be when you grew up? An anesthesiologist
  • What about your family? I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 2018. We have a 4-year-old daughter.

Mia McCoy, M.S.N., CRNP, CPNP-PC: Nurse practitioner, Pediatric Cardiology, Strada Patient Care Center

  • What is your collegiate alma mater? University of South Alabama
  • What is your favorite thing about your job? I love the challenges of pediatric cardiology and the opportunity to improve quality of life for the children of our community.
  • What is your hometown? Mobile, but I just moved back in June 2022 after being in Memphis, Tennessee, for 14 years.
  • What is the best advice you have ever received? Always remember, your job is your mission field.
  • What is your hidden talent? Playing guitar and singing

  • What was your high school superlative? Most talented

Shelby Glynn, PA-C: Physician assistant, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Children’s & Women’s Hospital  

  • What is your favorite thing about your career? I love the continued learning opportunities daily while simultaneously being able to support, educate and guide families through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I am blessed to have the opportunity to watch miracles happen right before my eyes daily. I consider myself blessed beyond measure to have my dream job.
  • What is the best advice you have ever received? You can laugh or you can cry.
  • What is your hidden talent? I love to sing!
  • What did you want to be when you grew up? At my kindergarten graduation, I stood before classmates and their parents and announced, "I want to be a baby doctor!" And here I am today, loving on and treating special tiny humans every day.
  • What about your pets? I have a Goldendoodle named Krewe, an ode to my South LA roots.
