After more than 36 years of dedicated service to the patients and staff at USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital, Bridget Moore, D.N.P., M.S.N., M.B.A., the director of nursing for pediatric services, is retiring at the end of August.

Moore started her professional career in 1987, rising through the ranks, earning advanced degrees, and taking on a teaching role at the University of South Alabama as an assistant professor in the College of Nursing, all the while supporting her chosen profession through state and national board leadership roles, writing textbook chapters, and conducting research.

Friends, family and colleagues gathered at Children's & Women's Hospital for a retirement reception on Aug. 18 to celebrate Moore. Her co-workers brought many gifts, including a rocking chair and more than a dozen books, which she can use for reading to her grandchildren. She was joined at the party by her husband and two of her sons, who also work for USA Health.
