As part of benefits changes that took effect Jan. 1, 2021, employees insured under the USA Health & Dental Plan no longer have a co-pay for office visits and consults with USA Health physicians and advanced practice providers.

Previously, employees were charged $10 per office visit within USA Health.

“By removing the co-pay, we sought to make it more affordable for employees to access the highly trained healthcare providers in our system,” said Tina Stalmach, director of human resources, benefits. “Our employees get the best of both worlds – the expertise of academic medicine and no out-of-pocket expense for a consultation.”

USA Health providers offer healthcare in more than 20 practice areas at locations across Mobile and Baldwin counties. Among the offerings are family medicine, internal medicine, dermatology, urology, gastroenterology, oncology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics, including several subspecialties.

Also as part of the benefits changes that took effect in 2021, the co-pay for office visits to non-USA Health physician offices increased to $40.
