What is your job, and what does it entail?

I am a registered nurse in labor and delivery. I take care of patients who have been admitted to the hospital either for induction of birth or for maternal and fetal monitoring for high-risk pregnancy.

What is your favorite or most rewarding part of your position?

There are so many things about my job that I love! I absolutely adore my coworkers and our teamwork. I also love our patients, and, of course, a good birth story.

What made you want to join USA Health?

I joined USA Health because I felt like I still had so much to learn as a new RN. I remember RNs I had previously worked with who came from USA were some of the best ones, and I wanted to be the best.

How long have you been with USA Health?

Since September 2019.

What has working with USA Health taught you?

I have learned so much working with USA Health! There are so many medical conditions in pregnancy and with neonates that I had no idea existed, and when dealing with a more high-risk population, I am exposed to those conditions and I am able to learn more than I would have at other hospitals.

Do you have any goals that you want to achieve in the health system?

I want to finish my bachelor of science in nursing, and I would love to one day be a clinical instructor.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work?

I have three daughters, so I don’t have a lot of “me” time, but I do enjoy taking pictures, and I'm a huge book worm.

Do you have any advice for people who want to work in the health system?

Do it! You will learn so much, but you have to be open to learning, and that includes constructive criticism and not being afraid to ask questions. Never stop learning!
