What’s your job title, and what does it entail?
I graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2020 with a master’s degree in nursing, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I work with Thomas Butler, M.D., and Jennifer Overstreet, C.R.N.P. at the Mitchell Cancer Institute. I am proud to be a part of the supportive care team.

What is your favorite or most rewarding part of your position? 
Helping and seeing patients achieve a comfortable way of life while enduring chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

What originally made you want to join USA Health? 
Personal experience and the compassion that the supportive care program demonstrates toward patients.

How long have you been with USA Health?
Since July 2021

What has working with USA Health taught you?
The importance of dealing with patients with chronic disease states and the benefit that our program can be to them.

Do you have any goals that you want to achieve in the health system? 
My long-term goal is to promote positive patient outcomes using compassion and comfort measures through evidence-based practice.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work?
My favorite hobby is my family. I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, doing anything that they enjoy.

Do you have any advice for people who want to work in the health system?
I have had a great experience thus far. USA Health has multiple opportunities in all areas of interest related to healthcare. I am finding that there are always learning experiences available.
