What is your job?

I am the pharmacist in charge of the University Commons infusion center. I make infusions for patients with rheumatic diseases and osteoporosis.

What is your favorite or most rewarding part of your position?

I get to spend time getting to know my patients, collaborating with physicians and being involved in the decision-making process for the infusion center.

What originally made you want to join USA Health?

I was in pharmacy school when I had two professional rotations at USA Health. I knew then that this would be a good learning environment for me and somewhere that I could see myself for years down the road.

How long have you been with USA Health?

I have been with USA Health for five years.

What has working with USA Health taught you?

There is always an opportunity for growth and learning.

Do you have any goals that you want to achieve in the health system?

I am passionate about infusions and would like to help expand the infusion center process across our healthcare system.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work?

I’m an aerialist, competitive dancer and traveler.

Do you have any advice to give to people who want to work in the health system?

There are many opportunities in a growing healthcare system. Find the area that works best for you. Always be willing to try something new if the opportunity arises.

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
