Employees join Mobile Kidney Walk

USA Health employees participated in the Mobile Kidney Walk & Celebration on March 22 at UMS-Wright Preparatory School. University Hospital CEO Josh Snow, MSHA, served as honorary chair for the event, which provides local kidney patients in need with financial assistants and supports educational efforts to improve patient outcomes.

USA Health neurologist supports local MS fundraiser

USA Health neurologist William Kilgo, M.D., who specializes in the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS), showed his support at the 4th annual Mo-Boil event on March 27 hosted by the South Alabama MS Society Community Council. The yearly crawfish boil helps raise awareness and raise funds for the National MS Society to support research to elevate the quality of life for those living with MS.

USA Health provides spiritual health resources to employees 

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
