PEC staff educate community on water safety

As part of their outreach, staff from the Pediatric Emergency Center at Children’s & Women’s Hospital are educating the community on different topics each month. This month’s educational program focuses on water safety.

Resh Dhillon, M.D., a pediatric emergency medicine physician, and Emily Hughes, RN, M.S.N., nurse manager for the pediatric emergency department, appeared on FOX10 to discuss water safety and drowning prevention. Other activities included creating posters on the topic for each exam room and posting to social media about being a “water watcher.”

In a post called “What TO Wear and What NOT TO Wear, Peds ED Style,” they informed the public to wear bright and bold swimsuits in the water, as opposed to dark colors or shades of blue.
