Azalea Trail Run

USA Health sports medicine physicians were on hand to care for runners at the 46th Azalea Trail Run this past Saturday. Peter Rippey, M.D., CAQSM, program director for USA Health’s sports medicine fellowship, left, and fellow Demetrius Simmons, M.D., center, joined race medical director Keith Spain, M.D., of Baldwin Bone and Joint, who also serves as an adjunct faculty member for the fellowship.


USA Health dermatologist Roberta Swain, M.D., FAAD, performed skin screenings for race participants and spectators at a booth hosted by the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. She was joined by a group of medical student volunteers from the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine.

 

Downtown Cajun Cook-Off

Team members from the Pediatric Emergency Center at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital participated at the Downtown Cajun Cook-Off, also held this past Saturday, in Mobile's Cathedral Square. The event benefited the Child Advocacy Center.
