Clinics collect Halloween costumes for patients
USA Health clinics throughout the academic health system collected Halloween costumes and money to purchase new ones for pediatric patients.
“We were able to collect over 300 costumes, including $200 in donations to purchase new costumes for our employee engagement activity this month,” said Sarah Kahalley, RN, M.S.H.A., Chief Nursing Officer for Physician Enterprise, “I was able to witness a patient’s parent selecting a costume at Neurosurgery and another making a special request at Citronelle, which brought me nothing but pure joy!”
Costumes were collected at pediatric clinics at Strada, Center Street, Semmes, Spanish Fort, Mapp, and Pediatric Associates, and primary care clinics at Snow Road, Citronelle, Airport, as well as neurosurgery, orthopedics, and ENT surgery in Midtown.
Providence Gastroenterology visits Mulherin Home residents
USA Health Providence Gastroenterology visited Mulherin Home residents on their Halloween parade day as part of its ongoing service project with the long-term care facility. Employees got into the spirit by dressing in costume before decorating for the parade and passing out candy. During a summer employee engagement activity, Providence GI employees enjoyed working with the Mulherin Home residents so much that they chose to visit on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. Endocrinology manager Nicole Henley also participated in the festivities.
