Wearing a mask ‘clearly reduces transmission’

Last week, Alabama joined more than half the states in implementing a mask requirement for individuals when they are in public or close contact with others. USA Health has required all employees to wear masks while at its healthcare facilities since early April.

USA Health names Allen Broome to lead system pharmacy

Allen Broome, Pharm.D., has been named director of health system pharmacy for USA Health. In this position, Broome will oversee clinical and financial operations for USA Health’s pharmacies located at University Hospital, Children’s & Women’s Hospital and the Mitchell Cancer Institute.

Lung cancer specialist joins USA Health

Brian E. Persing, M.D., who will be an assistant professor of interdisciplinary clinical oncology, will specialize in the treatment of lung cancer. He will see patients at the Mitchell Cancer Institute’s two Mobile locations.
