MCI Hope Pediatric Oncology Infusion
Pediatric oncology infusion moving to Mitchell Cancer Institute

A new infusion suite called the Hope has been developed specifically for pediatric oncology patients at MCI. The new Hope suite is decorated in an ocean theme and equipped with electronic tablets and televisions to help distract and entertain young patients during what can be hours-long treatments.

University Urology participates in national quality of care monitoring program

Designed by the American Urological Association, the Quality Registry (AQUA) is a powerful tool for urologists to observe the course of a disease, understand variations in treatment and outcomes, and examine factors influencing prognosis and quality of life. It can also help urologists describe patient care patterns, monitor safety and harm, and enable them to review and compare data with their peers.

Bridge program
A nurse’s commitment to NICU families brings Bridge program to life

While working as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Rene Sprague, RN, MSN, recognized that these patients needed special support. In 2017, Sprague, along with Brian Brocato, D.O., a maternal-fetal medicine physician, established the Bridge Program at Children’s & Women’s in Mobile.
