Pathology resident graduates bound for fellowship programs

Four graduates of the USA Health Pathology Residency Program are continuing their training with fellowships at prestigious institutions.

The USA Health Department of Pathology graduated four residents in clinical and anatomic pathology this year. All four are continuing their education with fellowships at prestigious institutions.

“We congratulate them all on their accomplishments and wish them much success in their future endeavors,” said Guillermo Herrera, M.D., professor and chair of pathology.

Sara Avalos Hernandez, M.D., will begin a fellowship in surgical pathology at Stony Brook University in New York. She will follow up with training in breast pathology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.

Shuo-Shawn Liu, M.D., Ph.D., is headed to Larkin Community Hospital in Miami for a dermatopathology fellowship.

Jordan Lowery, M.D., will begin fellowship training in forensic pathology at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York.

Fnu Sameeta, M.D., is headed to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for a fellowship in hematopathology.
