USA Health providers to lead cooking demonstration, hands-on class

USA and USA Health employees and their dependents on USA Choice, Select and Consumer health insurance plans are eligible to receive a discount on the enrollment fee.

The Integrative Health and Wellness Program is offering two upcoming events in its teaching kitchens led by USA Health providers.

Chris Malozzi, D.O., a cardiologist and associate professor of internal medicine at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine, will lead a discussion about heart-healthy eating and a cooking demonstration at the University Commons kitchen on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from noon to 1 p.m. Participants will be able to sample the food prepared.

University of South Alabama and USA Health employees and their dependents on USA Choice, Select and Consumer health insurance plans are eligible to sign up for the demonstration for $5. For the public, and those not on specified health insurance plans already mentioned, the demonstration is $15 to attend.  

In March, William Kilgo, M.D., a neurologist who specializes in the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS) and associate professor of neurology at the Whiddon College of Medicine, will lead a hands-on cooking experience at the Mapp Family Campus teaching kitchen in Fairhope on Wednesday, March 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. He will provide insights on MS and discuss diet for symptom improvement.  

USA and USA Health employees and their dependents on USA Choice, Select and Consumer health insurance plans, are eligible to take the class for $10. For the public, and those not on specified health insurance plans already mentioned, the class is $30.
