Cheers for Peers winner named

USA Health Recognizes You: Paige Upton

Paige Upton, a day-shift nurse on the pediatric floor at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, received a Cheers for Peers award. Upton was recognized by a manager who said, “Thank you for being a boss charge nurse and being so on top of the unit. I never have to worry when you’re here. Thank you.” Cheers for Peers is a peer recognition program in which an employee nominates a co-worker for the award.

 

Francisco selected for employee of the month

USA Health Recognizes You: Pam Francisco

Pam Francisco, who works in clinical trials at the Mitchell Cancer Institute, has been named employee of the month. Among the comments made about her: “She is always willing to mentor and train new employees,” and “Pam makes herself directly available to all her patients in order to put them immediately at ease and remove any concern they may be feeling.”

USA Health provides spiritual health resources to employees 

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
