Physicians Group names Kudos winners

The Physicians Group has recognized several employees with Kudos awards for going above and beyond in their duties. The award winners from the OB-GYN department include Allie Moore, C.R.N.P.; Mallory Pettis, L.P.N.; Anne Evans, accounting data specialist; Katherine Grette, M.D.; Stephen Varner, M.D.; LaNisha Daniels, L.P.N.; Stephanie Wallace, medical assistant; Shay Powell, medical assistant; and Tina Higgins, R.N.

Other Kudos winners include Chelsea Moorer, L.P.N., who works in the surgery department; and Larry Thomas Spradlin, R.N., a supervisor in the COVID vaccine and testing center.

Unit wins Most Consistent Sapphire Award

The 11th floor at University Hospital was among the winners of the HCAHPS Most Consistent Sapphire Award for the first quarter of fiscal 2022 based on a national standardized survey of patient perspectives, the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. The 11th floor scored 98 percent for overall rating of care in October and November.

McMillian named employee of the month

Vanessa McMillian, who works in administration at the Mitchell Cancer Institute, has been named employee of the month for January. Among the comments made about McMillian: “Vanessa is always going above and beyond to assist anyone who may need it. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and always picks up the slack with a cheerful attitude and selfless enthusiasm.” “You can tell she takes pride in doing her job, and she does it well.”

Cheers for Peers winner named

Catherine Odom, R.N., a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, has been named a Cheers for Peers winner. Odom was nominated by a colleague for going above and beyond during a shift to assist with multiple deliveries.
