Dhawan retires after 34 years of service

Rashmi Dhawan, a cytogenetics technologist, is retiring after 34 years of service to USA Health. The Department of Pathology gathered Feb. 10 to wish her well.

"This exemplary employee dedicated her life to the laboratory and has helped so many patients at USA Health," said Guillermo Herrera, M.D., professor and chair of pathology. "It was with sadness that we celebrated this occasion but with happiness that must be part of a well-deserved retirement. We wish Rashmi a very happy retirement!"

Jarvis named Cheers for Peers winner

Miranda Jarvis, a ward clerk on the 11th floor at University Hospital, was named a Cheers for Peers winner. Jarvis was nominated by a colleague for responding to calls professionally and always being helpful.

McGadney named Kudos winner

Imani McGadney, a medical assistant in the COVID Center, was named a Kudos winner for going above and beyond in her position.

USA Health provides spiritual health resources to employees 

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
