Hoopes named Cheers for Peers winner

James Hoopes, a technical specialist in Information Technology, was named a Cheers for Peers winner in April. Hoopes was nominated by another department for going above and beyond to help with things.

Turrubiates named employee of the month

Carlos Turrubiates, a night-shift security guard at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, was named employee of the month for April. Turrubiates was nominated for pulling extra shifts in his department, never complaining and always lending a helping hand. He also was instrumental in a training class held through the Pediatric Emergency Department.

USA Health provides spiritual health resources to employees 

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
