Atwell named winner of DAISY Award

Tyler Atwell, RN, BSN, a nurse who works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital has been recognized as a DAISY Award honoree. Among the comments made during her nomination: “Even after a 12-hour shift, she always wears a smile and tells every person she comes in contact with, ‘Good morning. I hope you have a great day.’” Established by the DAISY Foundation, the DAISY Award honors the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day.

USA Health provides spiritual health resources to employees 

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
