USA Health recognizes you! May 19 edition

These employees have been recognized for their dedication to quality patient care.

Camryn Tomes, a nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, has won a DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses. The DAISY Award honors the super-human work that nurses do for patients and families every day.

Kendra Taylor, a USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital medical assistant who works in medical oncology at the USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute, was named employee of the month for April. Among the comments made about Taylor: “Kendra gives excellent care and is very knowledgeable about her patients. She is always my go-to person. She has such a willing attitude, and that goes a long way in influencing those around her.”

Lisa Howard, clinical nurse supervisor in USA Health Neurosciences, received a DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses. The DAISY Award honors the super-human work that nurses do for patients and families every day.

USA Health provides spiritual health resources to employees 

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
