USA Health recognizes you: Jan. 3

Two employees at Children’s & Women’s Hospital were presented with “Nothing Bundt the Best” awards, which has replaced Employee of the Month recognitions.

Yolanda Chestang, who works in the OB evaluation center, won the award for doing a wonderful job of keeping the department ready and equipped for all scenarios. She is shown with Vicki Curtis, director of nursing for women’s services; Claudia Reed, nurse manager, and her peers who nominated her.

Robert Holland, who works in the pediatrics department, won the award for going above and beyond to help patients who need ultrasound-guided IVs. He is pictured with Bridget Moore, director of nursing for pediatric services; and Britney Sherrer, nurse manager.

Employees are nominated for “Nothing Bundt the Best” by their peers, and multiple winners are chosen by a committee to represent outstanding effort that goes above and beyond.

USA Health provides spiritual health resources to employees 

“Healthcare workers have to process and carry many emotions as they care for patients who are experiencing disease and traumatic events,” said Kim Crawford Meeks, manager of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department. “Safe and sacred spaces to aid in the processing of emotions are vital to our health and ability to sustain this type of work.”
