USA offers new employee benefit

Savi is a program for employees designed to assist in reducing their student loan debt.

The University of South Alabama is pleased to announce an exciting new employee benefit being offered in coordination with TIAA called Savi.

Savi is a program for employees designed to assist in reducing their student loan debt. Employees working in public service may be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) which provides financial relief by forgiving a portion of the loan balance after making 120 qualifying payments. The application process can be tedious; so, this is where Savi can provide the assistance!

Employees do not have to be a TIAA participant to take advantage of Savi. There is a Savi DIY feature that is free of charge which navigates the employee through the process using the standard paper application. Alternatively, to take advantage of all the premium features, employees can enroll in the Savi Essential program which provides e-file enrollment, maximized forgiveness credits, one-on-one support from Savi student loan experts, ongoing management and monitoring, and much more. Savi Essential is the most popular option but there is an annual fee to enroll.

In addition, there are two upcoming webinars available for employees to learn more about Savi and what Savi can do for them. There is a registration link available at the bottom of the above page. You are encouraged to register today!
