Register Now: Virtual Sickle Cell Regional Conference planned for May 15
The event, entitled “Sickle Cell Disease, Practical Issues XVIII: What’s in Your Genes? The Promise of a Cure,” is devoted to educating healthcare professionals on sickle cell disease.
To offer up-to-date information on the treatment and management of sickle cell disease, the University of South Alabama Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center will host the 2021 Sickle Cell Regional Conference on May 15, 2021, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
This one-day virtual conference features three internationally recognized experts in sickle cell disease, including John F. Tisdale, M.D., senior investigator and director of the molecular and clinical hematology branch of the National Institutes of Health; Frederick Goldman, M.D., professor and director of the Lowder Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; and Tim Townes, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at UAB.
