USA Health SouthNet Medical Clinic expands treatment

Effective Tuesday, April 1, USA Health’s SouthNet Medical Clinic will expand treatment to dependents of University of South Alabama and USA Health employees. This includes spouses and dependents ages 18 to 26 of employees with any USA Blue Cross plan.  

“Convenient access to affordable healthcare can be very difficult for patients. The SouthNet Medical Clinic is an extraordinary benefit of working for the University of South Alabama, and my hope is that employees, and now their dependents, will take advantage of this opportunity,” said clinic director Theresa Yarbrough, M.D. “I have found that oftentimes those who care for others are often the last to care for themselves, and I am hoping to change that at SouthNet.” 

Located on the campus of Children’s & Women’s Hospital, the SouthNet Medical Clinic will offer convenient access to both urgent care and primary care services to USA employees and their dependents at no cost. Ancillary services, such as labs and imaging, if medically necessary, will be billed to insurance.  

USA employees, regardless of insurance coverage, will still be seen at SouthNet.

There are two separate clinics within the medical office, both open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

SouthNet Quick Care clinic provides immediate care for the most acute conditions, such as viral illnesses, cuts and rashes, minor burns and injuries, and infections of the ear, sinus and urinary tracts. SouthNet Quick Care offers same-day appointments.   

 SouthNet Primary Care clinic offers employees preventative care services such as age-appropriate cancer screenings, lab work and immunizations. It also offers management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and depression.
