Q: What is a chemical peel?
A: A chemical peel is a topical treatment for the skin that can be individualized to each patient based on skin concerns. Conditions such as acne, rosacea, sun damage, aging, melisma and hyperpigmentation can be addressed.
Q: How long does the procedure take?
A: The entire chemical peel can be completed in approximately 30 minutes.
Q: Who is a candidate?
A: Fortunately, there are many different types of chemical peels, and almost everyone is a candidate.
Q: What can I expect after the treatment?
A: You will speak with either Dr. Donnellan or Bailey Luloff regarding what you want to accomplish. We can recommend the right peel to meet your expectations. Some peels have no peeling or redness afterward while others may cause some flaking of dead skin for three to seven days. Additionally, some peels cause mild stinging when applied to the skin while others do not. We are able to individualize every treatment due to our array of options.
Q: When should I have a peel?
A: Peels are done year round, but the most popular time is during the fall to try to correct some of the sun damage that was received during the summer months.
