USA Ethics and Compliance Hotline

Ideally, we bring these issues to our supervisors. But if you don’t feel comfortable using that method, the University’s Ethics and Compliance Hotline is available to you.

Each one of us, regardless of our position, shares the responsibility for supporting a positive university culture and healthy work environment. One way you can help is by bringing forward concerns, such as violations of policies or procedures, or other conduct-related issues. Ideally, we bring these issues to our supervisors. But if you don’t feel comfortable using that method, the University’s Ethics and Compliance Hotline is available to you.

  • Call 1-844-666-3599 or visit southalabama.edu/hotline and follow instructions under “To make a report.” The phone and web-based reporting system allows you to communicate your concerns confidentially and anonymously so that you can do your part to promote safety, security and ethical behavior.
  • Each USA employee department should have an Ethics and Compliance Hotline poster featured on a department bulletin board or similar common area.
  • The southalabama.edu/hotline front page redirects certain types of reporting (i.e., student conduct and patient complaints) to more appropriate portals and also to a suggestion box.
  • Your timely reporting allows management the opportunity to resolve issues early, ideally before small problems grow into bigger problems.
  • You have an assurance from the Office of Compliance that all reports will be reviewed and responded to appropriately. Please remember that the reporting system is here to help you and to help all of us.
  • When you submit a report, you will be issued a Report Key, which, when used with a password, allows you to return to the hotline website and make inquiries or add new information.

If you have questions, please contact the Office of Compliance at 251-460-7115, or email cco@southalabama.edu. Please also see the University’s Ethics and Compliance Hotline policy.
