USA Foundation announces radiology award recipient
The winner for 2024 is Gwenn Moring, a medical assistant at the Freestanding Emergency Department (FED) Imaging Center.
USA Foundation has an endowed yearly award for employees who support radiology. The award is administered through Maxey Roberts, managing director of the USA Foundation, and was set up by the family of Frank Greiner, M.D., a former beloved radiologist at USA Health. This year’s award was given Sept. 19.
The criterion for this award is below:
The donor (the family of Dr. Greiner) wishes to recognize those individuals whom Dr. Greiner would have recognized. Dr. Greiner appreciated excellence and self-motivation in all individuals. The selection of an individual for the award is to be based on the following criteria in the following order:
- Excellence in work
- Fearlessness in his or her willingness to do what is right
- Independence and self-initiative, i.e. a self-starter and someone willing to go the extra mile to perform to the spirit, not just the letter of his/her work
- A sense of humor
The winner for 2024 is Gwenn Moring, a medical assistant at the Freestanding Emergency Department (FED) Imaging Center. Moring was nominated by her supervisor, Gregory Yeager, imaging manager of radiology at USA Health University Hospital, who referred to Moring as the “gatekeeper,” the first person that people talk to about their appointments prior to arrival and often the first person they see when they arrive for their appointment.
“Her professionalism and kindness make our jobs easier as the patient is already prepared for what can sometimes be a stressful situation. She is always willing to work extra when needed on weekends and holidays and does so with a spirit that best represents USA Health,” said Yeager.
Moring was presented her award by Roberts and Suzy Figarola, M.D., chair of radiology at USA Health.
