New holidays for USA Health in the coming year include Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth.

USA Health has added Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth as new holidays for 2022 and beyond, according to the new USA Health holiday schedule. In addition, USA Health employees will receive an additional eight hours of PTO starting this year.

“We continue to work on developing a more competitive benefit package for the USA Health team,” said Andrea Rosler, chief human resources officer for USA Health. “This is based on feedback from the employee engagement surveys.”

Rosler said that some departments in the health system may not be able to close on the designated holidays. “Each administrator will decide whether departments will remain open based on patient needs,” she said. “The department also will need to announce closures at least a week in advance of the holiday.”

In addition, USA Health no longer will require employees to use PTO for holidays. Employees who are not working on the designated holiday may take accrued and available PTO on a different day or take that day off without pay using the code UTO on their time sheets.

The new holiday schedule includes these designated days for the coming year:

  • Labor Day: Monday, Sept. 6, 2021
  • Thanksgiving: Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021
  • Friday after Thanksgiving: Friday, Nov. 26, 2021
  • Christmas Day: Friday, Dec. 24, 2021
  • New Year’s Day (2022): Friday, Dec. 31, 2021
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Monday, Jan. 17, 2022
  • Mardi Gras: Tuesday, March 1, 2022
  • Memorial Day: Monday, May 30, 2022
  • Juneteenth: Monday, June 20, 2022
  • July 4th: Monday, July 4, 2022
