Vaccinations continue for staff and USA Health patients at Mobile Civic Center
The vaccine injections are being administered at a drive-through clinic at the Mobile Civic Center arena by appointment only.
Since Dec. 15, USA Health has administered more than 5,200 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to staff members, other healthcare workers, and patients age 75 and older designated to receive the shot by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
Beginning on Monday, Jan. 18, USA Health patients age 75 and older began receiving the first dose of the vaccine that’s designed to give up to 95 percent immunity to COVID-19 after a second dose. The vaccine injections are being administered at a drive-through clinic at the Mobile Civic Center arena by appointment only. The health system has partnered with the City of Mobile to use the arena for the vaccination initiative.
For vaccination appointments, USA Health employees or their managers can self-schedule an appointment. The first step is to complete the USA Health Vaccination Information Registration Form. After completing the form, you will receive a link via email to sign up for an appointment.
Last week, USA Health received an additional 3,000 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. As more vaccine becomes available, USA Health will continue COVID-19 vaccine administration efforts to eligible populations as defined by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
USA Health is developing an online registry to serve as an interest indicator for members of the community to use to signal they want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine when more supplies become available.
Drive-through testing for COVID-19 also continues at Expo Hall, which is a separate part of the Mobile Civic Center complex with a separate entrance and exit at Lawrence Street.
