There are a variety of places for employees to park on USA Health campuses, including spaces in areas you may not be aware of.

As USA Health has expanded in recent years, options for parking also have stretched to meet the needs of employees, students, vendors, volunteers and everyone else who requires access to the region’s only academic health system.

Since it can be challenging on some days to secure a spot in a lot where you regularly park, new maps have been created that offer a bird’s eye view of employee parking options across our largest campuses including those at University Hospital, Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Strada Patient Care Center and Mitchell Cancer Institute.

“We strive to provide the most patient-centered care possible,” said Rosemary White, MBA, assistant administrator for USA Health. “That includes offering the closest and most convenient parking spaces to sick and injured patients and their caregivers who are seeking treatment from our providers.”

As a reminder, here are some of the policy points to follow when parking:

  • Employees are not allowed to park in any visitor/patient parking area, including handicap spots, at any time while on shift.
  • Employees attending orientation and training classes must park in designated employee lots.
  • Parking in non-designated spaces/areas, including emergency access and fire lanes is not allowed and may result in your vehicle being towed.
  • Students are not allowed in any visitor/patient parking area while on campus for training or educational purposes.

With renovation work beginning on the expansion of the pediatric emergency center at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, some parking that was temporarily available off Center Street has been removed to make room for work trucks and office space for contractors.

For those employed at Children’s & Women’s Hospital, transportation from the Lambert Street lot is provided to and from the back entrance of the hospital. If you are having difficulty finding a spot in the Lambert Street lot, be sure to drive completely in to the area. In addition to a gravel lot, there is additional fenced parking closer to the back of the former MAWSS building where IT is now located.
