Deborah Browning, MSN, RN, CENP, is chief executive officer at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital. She most recently served as chief nursing officer.
Prior to joining Children’s & Women’s Hospital in March 2021, Browning served as chief nursing officer at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She has been responsible for women’s and/or children’s service lines at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Browning completed the American Organization of Nurse Executives Nursing Director Fellowship and serves on several AONL committees at the national level.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, and her master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Phoenix.

Several hundred people attended the first NICU reunion since the start of the pandemic, to celebrate life and hope.
The NICU Reunion serves as a celebration of life and a reminder of hope for the caregivers “who were never willing to give up, even when the chances of progress were bleak.”
The initiative, led by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in partnership with Merck for Mothers, aims to understand how to best support changes to clinical and administrative processes that will lead to safer and more equitable postpartum care and support for all mothers.
