Constance Collins Dabezies, M.D., FACOG, NCMP, a board-certified OB-GYN who joined USA Health in 2022, has become one of only seven healthcare providers in Alabama to hold the NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner designation from the North American Menopause Society.
To earn the certification, a healthcare professional must meet the program’s criteria and pass an examination. The certification indicates a special interest and competency in the field of menopause. Founded in 1989, NAMS is North America’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health and quality of life through an understanding of menopause.
“In the past decade, clinical research and the understanding of the perimenopausal and menopausal transition has exploded,” Dabezies said. “As a result, there are great new treatments available to women during this dynamic stage in their lives.”
Dabezies treats patients at USA Health Eastern Shore OB-GYN, located at the Eastern Shore Centre in Spanish Fort. Her practice focuses on women’s healthcare, including menopausal medicine, hormone consultations, gynecologic cancer prevention, and obstetrical care.
Dabezies earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed an OB-GYN residency at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has enjoyed practicing medicine in the private and public healthcare sectors, working in academic medicine and leading clinical research in women’s health.
