The symposium will provide updates on important topics in neurology and feature faculty members from academic health systems across the Southeast.

The 10th annual USA Health Neuroscience Symposium is scheduled for April 25-27 at the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach. Open to all physicians and healthcare professionals, the symposium provides updates on important topics in neurology and addresses clinical competencies of knowledge, performance, and improving patient outcomes.  

This year, the symposium will feature various faculty members from the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama speaking about neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, gait disorders, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and more.  

Four guest speakers will also join the event to share their input:  

  • Shruti Agnihotri, M.D., associate professor of neurology and director for the Division of Comprehensive Neurology, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) 
  • Mohamed Kazamel, M.D., professor of neurology, UAB 
  • James Rini, M.D., MPH, assistant professor of neurology, Oschner Health 
  • Teshamae Monteith, M.D., associate professor of clinical neurology and chief of the Headache Division, University of Miami Health System.
